CAN SUMMER SHORTS BE CLASSY?

Haphazardly cutting up an old pair of denim jeans to wear as shorts - has always been cool.

Teaming up a loose tee and sneakers with any pair of shorts - will always be a go-to casual.

Pulling ‘em over your bikini bottoms – can always work for your beach-time fun.

But making them classy for summer? How is that done?

CLASSY NOT SASSY 101:

Obviously, avoid cargo, Bermuda and beach shorts. There are so many chic silhouettes to class up the joint. Think paper-bag shorts, pleated shorts, scallop hem or my favourite – white denim (especially for summer).

An XL button-down with its buttons left open till about half-way down, tucked into the waistband can never be anything but classy. But this is such a style staple, I feel almost silly sharing it. So, here are two looks I’d like to share with you:

1. White Denim with cuffed hems – Nothing says classy more than a monochrome combo. I paired my whites with a black all-over-lace lace blouse with cute buttons down the back.

2. Black Polyester with a scalloped hem – These shorts themselves were made keeping sophistication in mind. All I had to do was find a pretty slip to pair with them.

If you’ve got any classy not sassy summer looks for shorts – Do share!
