November is all about preparing for the ‘barely there’ winter, that we are subjected to every December, here in the south. It lasts for only three-four weeks and that novelty makes it an exciting time for fashion enthusiasts like me, who rarely get the chance to layer it up in knits and woolens.
So, here’s the start of a new series on the blog, just for this month, called ‘Sweater Weather’. Stay tuned to find out how to style different types of sweaters and what your choice of sweater says about you!
I’m calling this first outfit in the sweater weather series – ‘Living the Pink Life’.
A bright coloured, V-neck, slightly baggy sweater is a winter essential; it keeps you warm, feels cosy and works best in solid colours. Think deep pink or magenta if you are someone who basks in the glory of womanhood. Proud of her femininity yet not aggressively feminist; A ‘V’ neckline emphasises the above notion, but keep in mind that if it dips too deep, you might be perceived as power hungry or attention seeking.
This sweater, when accentuated with a statement pendant and a pair of light grey jeans and plimsolls creates an ensemble that speaks of simplicity coloured with a fabulous sense of style!
Also, wearing pink hints at a relaxed mood and the want to be a little irresponsible, even if it is for a short while. (which I think, everybody has the right to) But, if you’re over twenty and your wardrobe is loaded with magenta, fuchsia and all sorts of pink – it’s time to get a reality check! You know what they say about rose-tinted glasses…
