ALL IN A DAYS WORK

Some of us have the most hectic daily routines, finding ourselves at-the-go right from the moment we’re awake. If the first thing you do is check your phone (while still in bed) for messages, mails and any work-related updates, you might just be borderline workaholic (Hello Friend :p).

From then, it’s a whirlwind of quick showers, pre-planned outfits, meals-to-cook (breakfast to eat and lunch to go).. all while simultaneously hooked to the phone and intermittent glances at the mirror! By the time all this gets done, its only 10:00am and you’ve still got errands to run, meetings to attend, shopping to do and log in your hours at work (which you love!) followed by a social gathering in the evening (that you were excited for, yet find yourself too tired to actually care about by the end of the day).

If you can relate to this lifestyle, then you’ll probably love this outfit as much as I do.

You need something that looks smart, elegant ye free from constraints. I personally prefer fluid silhouettes and semi-formal styles on crazy days like these. Wearing a pair of high waist cerulean palazzos with a navy button down shirt, tucked in with a thin caramel tone belt and a scarf to complete the outfit is the perfect way to facilitate all the ‘stuff’ on your to-do list, while still looking great!

Somehow this ensemble adds feminine grace to the determined stride of a workaholic and creates a balance that comes across as utter holistic perfection, rendering the beholder ‘off-balance’ (if you know what I mean :p).

It might seem like an easily thrown-together-at-the-last-minute attire, but subconsciously you've planned it to the T. You know you’re going to have a trying day, so you need the cerulean to stay calm and the navy to boost your confidence. Also, you need the fitted formal shirt to show authority at work, while the loose-fitted pants accommodate your busy schedule that will undoubtedly keep you on your feet.

Yup, given you something to think about, haven’t I?

STYLE TIP: If you’re looking to incorporate prints in this particular style of dressing – do so with a scarf or the palazzos. Try not to wear a printed button down. Why?

Prints will cause a visual disturbance in the only fitted portion of the attire, which might cause your body to appear un-shapely.

Also, tonal outfits with different garments in various shades of one hue, look really classy, so try to create some from your closet too!
